I just recently found the label Infinite Machine, and i’m extremely impressed. Bwanawas one of the many artists such as ∆dmin, BRUISES, Runamucker, etc… This is a little preview of his album that per Kudos records will be available Feb 6th. Its out for preorder as of Jan 21st. Bwana is everything I want my future garage to sound like. Will probably miss out on this vinyl though and go for the digital. Vinyl is limited to 300 copies and seems it will go fast. Anyways, Bwana and the whole Infinite Machine roster is this weeks Bummer Bliss. I figure that should make up for the week or 2 I missed. Such an amazing label with some great artists making futuristic heartbeats to the tune of two step. Yeah.. it’s good.

TineZ always brings the heat and does it well. I first heard of him when he sent me a mix that was a warmup for a Rustie. I have since listened to all of his mixes at least more than once. His track selection is impecable and the mixing never sloppy. So I went to check on his soundcloud today to see he posted a 2012 mix! All I have to say is look at that track list.

Im really not even sure how I stumbled upon Kami Kapnobatai , But this is what I like, the music that gives me chills, The music I like to call ~dopewave~. I know, Its silly to make up genres, But I started a theme and just went with it. Now i see people labeling them as dopewave, I dont know if I started that or even care but it goes to show that we as united blogs, are making a difference, We are making unknown music known, Free promotion for those who cant afford it. This is 2012, This is the year of the blog, this is the year we take back music. As a collective of lovers of music and not critics or haters. We will bring back all music, every genre. People already make it. Its just not known. Kami Kapnobataiis a perfect example, his/her Facebook literally has 6 likes on it. So like it god damn it, spread this post. Make it well known… that is only if you enjoy the music of course. For me, this is why I write about music, the inspiration i get from music like this makes me feel like we can do anything as artists.
The time is now, 2012 is the year the people take back media, and share it with everyone. Yeah sure, The artists need paid, but i really don’t think any artists should be making millions of dollars. Thats hype, thats money being poured into someone to make millions of dollars. Don’t get me wrong. I would take the money but not at the risk of creativeness sake. I plan to keep this blog ad free as long as I possibly can until it gets to big for me to handle and I have to monotize. (dont worry contributors and resident dj’s) you’ll be the first to get paid. Anyways.. Kami Kapnobatai – Feels Like Dope, will be the opener for the third install ment of Bummer Bit Presents: ~dopewave~ . Which will be mixed live on the air at the end of the month and then put up on soundcloud for free download. I actually plan on doing a few remixes this time around. If any artists feel like they fit the criterea for “dopewave” , whatever that even is, please send me your tracks at Bummerbit@gmail.com. This is going to be a two hour mix and well thought out. Unlike the previous two. I am working with a few artists to make specific “dopewave” vibe music. its silly , It really is. Its also fun as hell. Take a theme and run with it. If people bite.. cool. Thats what we do as artists try to inspire. right? Or maybe I have it all wrong and Im a hype man, as been accused before. I don’t make money, I pay money to do this. I need an outlet for creativity, so I made one, Im sure all true artists know exactly what im talking about.
Anyways, expect an amazing dopewave v3 at the end of the month. I have asked Kami Kapnobatai to do this mix but i am unsure of how busy he/she is. So we will see. Watch for lots of remixes and exclusives. Either way, If you want in.. there’s still room.. We’re just getting started. holla. ride the dopewave~
Through a blue-green glow of halogen headlight electronic fog, the night stars pulse and fade. The air hangs sweet and strange, the cosmik tides rush in a throbbing heartbeat rhythm; lapping at naive feet learning to dance the last rave of a dreaming island’s eternal adolescence. The moon’s reflection is rippling soft like a voice through sharp clockwork fractal waves… radio waves pushing, echoing from fading futures, ghost signals from Moroder’s Metropolis, crackle into being: forgotten/hidden love poems written on digital delay. The key and the engine turn, the last drag burns, and the wheels find the road as our night drives into sunrise. Sea Gown is the stereo soundtrack. This weeks Bummer Bliss. Enjoy.
Peter Densmore, the dude behind SEA GOWN, was visiting friends in his hometown of Carbondale over break and unassumingly left a CDR of a new project he had been working on. After sifting its way through the layers of beer cans and loose records produced by an average weekend it was picked up on a whim and popped into a laptop and thusly revealed as thee proverbial jam, a true joint, a diamond in the rough. The influences can be heard quite clearly (the lessons from Moroder paid in full), and the sound shares ground with Synthpop Statesmen like John Maus and M83, but Sea Gown is unmistakably developing its own zones.
We here at Bummer Bit are as stoked to share it as we are to see where it goes.
Bombay Bicycle Club – ‘Lights Out, Words Gone’ (Rub A Dub version)
This weeks Bummer Blissis a good one for me. Bombay Bicycle Club was the one of the first bands I ever blogged about and with their newest album “A Different Kind Of Fix” they bring back where they left off from their early demo and “I had the Blues But Shook Them Loose” to brilliant indie pop and Jack Steadman’s waverying yet indie pop ready vocals. While their acoustic effort “Flaws” was brilliant and showed another side of BBC, Their new album brought the Indie kiddies into Indie pop greats by bringing back their old popy post punk rock sound. I am more than impressed. I know this is way late in the game and they are large enough to not need free publicity but I’ve been following these kids since they where just a blip on the radar and I’m glad to see they are getting the recognition they finally deserve. They are and will be one of my Top 5 Indie Rock bands. This Bibio Remix is especially chilling and personal as is the “lights out, Words Gone rub a dub” version. These are this weeks Bummer Bliss.
